Xerox MFP
My Role and Responsibilities
I was brought on as the UI/UX Design specialist at Xerox in Webster, NY in the Experience Design Group for the new generation of mobile-like interfaces. Responsibilities in the design, development and research/testing of UI for touchscreen devices.
I was responsible at every stage from wireframes and storyboards, building and user-testing prototypes at various levels of fidelity, and eventually overseeing the implementation and development of the features in the product itself.
I lead the design and functional documentation of my products including style guides and layout guides, user experience standards, and keeping everything current and consistent across platforms in a rapidly-changing large-scale development environment with shifting priorities and timelines.

Touchscreen Experience Design
If you’ve watched this UI exploration video, you can see why they needed a designer that has experience with Mobile UX. We decided to utilize the existing design language of mobile devices to create a functional touch-screen interface. This allowed us to use an existing vocabulary of interactions and design cues to create a more intuitive system.
The App Advantage
By using existing mental models for navigating apps on mobile, we are able to achieve a higher level of immediate understanding and enable our users to quickly get started on our platform. With Xerox App Gallery we have an environment similar to an App-Store where users and businesses can get their devices loaded with the same apps they use for their businesses like Dropbox, Google Drive, and more.
Customization
In addition to popular third-party apps, our platform allows for users to make their own custom apps. They can automate repetitive tasks using 1-Touch Apps or even bring new functionality to their devices using the Xerox App Gallery to download apps their workplace may already be using.
